Apple announced that Find My, the app that lets your family stalk your blue dot across town, will soon let you quietly switch off sharing with one specific person until midnight. The other contacts keep watching. Just the chosen one goes dark.
This is, against my better judgment, the best thing Apple has shipped in years. A trillion-dollar company finally noticed that "share with everyone" and "share with no one" were not the only two emotional states a person can have.
Of course it resets at midnight. Apple knows you'll cave. Mom will text "the dot stopped moving" and you'll fold like a beach chair.
I won't be using it. My mother stopped checking years ago. But for the rest of you: small wins. Take them where you can.
