If you were a comic book character and chose to take a peek into the wacky world of food, boy, you'd be in for a treat! So, buckle up, fellow heroes-in-capris, because our madcap adventure involves a big shot company named PoultryX, who are masterminds in making... drumrolls please... chicken without actual chickens! Sounds like science fiction, right? Well, there's more!
Once upon an interview, Miss Bossy-Boots of PoultryX boasted about making 'real meat no-meat chicken' in their secretive lair. But my superhero senses say something fishy's up, and, perhaps, not chicken-y enough.
So, boys and girls, hold your chicken-nuggets! The fine folks at PoultryX, in a plot twist straight out of a comic strip decided to make nugget-like chicken product more important than making the actual chicken. Then came the BIG announcement of a ginormous chicken-nugget facility in Glenview, Illionois.
However, an announcement is as good as the paper it's written on, because they haven't yet got two green thumbs up from the ultra-important regulators. So, we can say, their eggciting plan has gone into the hen-house for now.
But plot thickens when I rode on my space-hopper to taste the 'futuristic chicken'. Could have been that or an another case of my mom's overcooked casserole! The real scoop, fellow heroes, is that while they've been firing their flavor lasers at full capacity, technical glitches and bumpity-bumps seem to be the order of the day.
In a surprising twist during my undercover snooping, it turns out PoultryX isn't alone in the meaty tales! Other companies SciFi Foods are turning up the oddness-ometer by mixing 5% animal cells with plant-based stuff to create beef burgers - a shocker, huh?
What sets PoultryX apart? Well boys and girls, rumors on the slide are that PoultryX is the first in food-tech class! They've managed to raise a whooping sum of money - all $600 million of it since 2016!
However, they don't seem to be acting like the superhero of lab-grown chicken world. Rather more like a meaty plot of a comic book that might not be cooked well enough to chew. So, until PoultryX uncovers the power of 'whole-textured' chicken, we have to wait and see how chicken-y the future will be without real chickens!
