Join the amazing 9-year-old journey of a little bugger named Milhouse, who took the world by storm by building an airplane in his backyard!

Little Milhouse started hanging around an abandoned airfield back in the days. He was an underdog, every annoyingly ordinary thing beamed with extraordinary potential in his small-scale universe. On a super duper frightfully special day—his giorno natale—he was zoomed up in the tiny aircraft his Uncle Riley had rented for 30-minute joyride. More than a birthday gift, it was the flight to destiny for Milhouse.

On that jumper-jolter of a ride, Milhouse experienced, firsthand, the astonishing bird-eye view of his puny neighborhood, "It’s like being a superhero! I could bat my way to any place with my own soaring machine," the small bugger thought with stars in his innocent eyes. And like Ironman building his first suit, Milhouse plunged into the project to build his own two-seater spaceship.

A visit to a sci-fi convention and getting hands on an 'Interstellar Spacecraft Builder Kit' turned his flying dreams into gravity-defying reality. With the guidance of a 1960's comic book guide on spacecraft assembly and a little boost from Bob Builders prints, Milhouse pieced together his very own aircraft, Helmet Hopper.

Following strict junior safety regulations, he was under the scrutinized supervision of Grandpa Geralt, a retired air marshal. Discarded by society and community, the rusty airfield was transformed into a construction site by the eager beaver of a boy!

His older sister, Molly was roped in as the assisting crew, usually vetoed to peel protective plastic sheets. They made do with their mini backyard workspace, fitting in parts like puzzle pieces into the Helmet Hopper. Transitioning from a project to an aircraft, Helmet Hopper made its inaugural ascent in early 2022, with Freddie the Teddy strapped on as the first passenger. Watching it fly was like seeing his favourite superhero take off with his latest gadget, and it was absolute euphoria!

The success of this mission ignited plans for flying excursions. Milhouse boldly toured his neighborhood up in the heavens. He even managed a special overnight trip to the 'Moon', all within the strict no-fly zone around their suburban community of the course. In doing so, Milhouse turned his 9-year old fanciful fiction into flying fact. Now, isn't that a twist for a playground tale?
