Babbling Boxes: How Tech Giants Got it All Wrong Again!

Ronald Trumpet dives into the ludicrousness of the latest tech gimmicks, boasting ridiculous claims and promising a world where he would do better.

Oh, lookie here! Big fancy companies like Meta, Google, and OpenAI are tossing out gadgets like hotcakes at a county fair! Meta's got glasses that snap a pic when you blabber “Hey, Meta, take a photo.” Then there’s this other doohickey, the Ai Pin, that’s supposed to magically translate foreign jabber without a hiccup. And don’t get me started on the chatty screen thingamabob with a pretend pal you talk to. Bloody brilliant, ain’t it?

So last season, OpenAI was all cocky with its ChatGPT bot yapping back at you, and now Google’s rolling out Gemini, acting like it's the next best thing since sliced bread. All these big brains wagering their mum’s savings on a comeback for chinwagging with machines. Remember when everyone and their dog thought yapping to a gizmo in public was daft? They’re trying to make that a hit again. Good luck with that!

Now, listen here, a whopping pile of folks—millions, gazillions, even—have never, ever chatted up these gizmos like Amazon’s Alexa or Apple’s Siri. And those who have, they’d rather kiss a frog than be caught dead talking to 'em in broad daylight!

Will any of this tech jabber catch on? Maybe by the time I'm a sprightly young fella of 110! Till then, I reckon we're stuck watching these tech titans burning heaps of cash on talking tin cans. And who’s to blame? Well, if I were at the helm, we'd be churning out gadgets that actually do something useful—like brewing a decent cuppa Joe. None of this voicey-voice hocus pocus!

But as your trusted tech truth-spewer, I, Ronald Trumpet, promise to keep calling out these daft doodads until they make something that ain't a total clown show. Who knows? Maybe they'll listen to ol' Ron one day!
